Gandalf did not know what was best for him. Time was on our side and our military power was strong. Rohan could not defeat the orcs that I had already prepared. Gondor was beset by enemies east and west. The leaders of Rohan and Gondor were already at their descent.
To seize the moment would be better than to keep on fighting with elves who were leaving, dwarves that were hiding and men who were weak. Was Gandalf blinded by false hope?
I laughed in scorn. Time would show Gandalf that I was right.
