The rain did not stop in the Shire after the Battle. It seemed like the skies were mourning for those that have given their lives.
Sam made sure of his ol’ Gaffer, then his thoughts turned to Rosie. Dear Rosie, how she had waited for him, and he offered no explanation!
He was drawn to Rosie’s home by a familiar tune. Rosie was singing their song that memorialized the day they had first met. Joy shone in her eyes when she saw him approach.
“I’ve missed you, dear.”
“Me too, welcome home.”
Embracing tightly, they continued singing in the rain.
