Every year the damp leaves on the ground reminded Frodo of Bilbo’s birthday party where he departed from the Shire seemingly forever. When September 22nd approached, he toasted to Bilbo. His cousins and friends would ask him why he would.

“Do you even know where he is?”

“Why would you keep this tradition?”

“Why would he depart like a crazy hobbit? I knew he was always crazy.”

Frodo would just shake his head and smile within; he knew that his eccentric cousin was still alive. He felt convinced, and one day he would follow in his footsteps and find Bilbo.
