Title: The End of Spring
Author:
victory_raven
Characters/Pairing: Morgoth, the Valar, a host of Morgoth’s servants/minions.
Rating: PG
Warnings: Depressing
Book/Source: Chapter 1 of the Quenta Silmarillion.
Disclaimer: I own the drabble, but that’s it. Characters, plot, whatever - not mine.
Out of the blackness he came, his horde of servants following in his wake. Plants withered as he passed, water grew foul and beasts died. Morgoth moved south, into the light he planned to destroy. The Valar could feel his malice, but knew not when he would strike.
Swift was the blow, and sure. The Dark One came into the light, and tore down the pillars of Illuin and Ormal. The seas boiled, the earth broke, and flame flashed and poured over the land as the lamps exploded. The symmetry of the world was destroyed, and Spring bloomed no more.
