Missing Thargelion, by Himring
Aug. 28th, 2021 11:12 pmAuthor : Himring
Fandom : Silmarillion
Rating : PG
Characters : Caranthir, son of Feanor
Disclaimer : Caranthir, Thargelion and Amon Ereb are all Tolkien's, but this drabble is set firmly in Himring 'verse.
Spoilers : This is set after the Battle of Sudden Flame, so for the outcome of that.
Summary: Caranthir, driven southward from Thargelion by the Enemy, builds a stronghold on Amon Ereb.
Nineteen months later, Caranthir found himself missing fiercely the gleam of light on the surface of the lake, how the breeze sent little waves across the bay between the arms of the mountain. He missed….
It did not bear thinking of. There was nothing he could do about it. Not yet.
He lifted another stone, fit it into place. At least, the construction had made good progress. They had worked hard and fast. These walls would be higher, stronger than any he had built in Thargelion, a bulwark for the Sons of Feanor in the South when Morgoth came again.
A/N: This drabble came out an insta-drabbling session.
