Disclaimer: Obviously I don't own Sam and Frodo but It'd be pretty cool if I did!

Author Notes: I wrote this for Samfrodomonth back in July actually! :) this one was done for the first day.

 

Sam sits by the sea, just as he had the year before that, and the year before that– small paint box beside him, bristle brush in hand. 

He watches boiled shells cool beside him, the steam rising off in waves. He picks one up, still warm under his fingers, and begins to paint. 

It’s nothing very good, but it tells what it needs to tell. It’s a painting of Elanor, sitting quietly in the grass, violet in hand. It slips into the ocean easy enough.

Across the sea, a curious pale hand digs through the sand, and finds a gift.

Thank you!! I'm really in love with the concept of Sam somehow getting messages to Frodo, even if Frodo can't say anything back. I don't think the shell thing would ACTUALLY work but its very romantic to me :')
