Author's notes: This would be very easy to view as just Sam/Rosie with platonic Frodo, you may interpret how you wish, but im a big samfrosie fan so thats what im calling it :)

 

Listening to Bilbo speak of the misty mountains was one of the great joys of Frodo's youth– a tradition he took on his own thin shoulders as faunts gathered round him expectantly. 

Rosie sat at one side, Sam sat at his other, their warmth giving him something to focus on other than his nerves.

Their children waited expectantly on the rug, having heard this tale many times, yet would vie to hear it for years on end.

He held the red book tenderly in his hands, and finally, with a flourish, opened to a page with a familiar old script.

It's wonderful to imagine Frodo in the midst of a loving family.

Yeah I think it's such a sweet concept, one of my favorite things about Frodo staying in the shire is him getting to be amidst a growing active family (whether he is romantically involved with Sam and Rosie or not), I just think it's really sweet and I think it'd be good for him !

I wrote 15 stories in an AU that started with a story called "Quarantined" back in 2002-2003, in which Frodo, Sam, and Aragorn meet much earlier in their lives and share adventures. The last two tales of the series wrap things up with Frodo finding healing and joy and remaining in the Shire. I'm very proud of this series, and have loved writing all of it.
