Summary : Melian asks Nellas to do something for her. (Takes place at some point well before Turin's arrival in Doriath.)

‘Wha…‘, began Mablung, but then he noticed a couple of things and fell silent.

Firstly, the legs emerging from the foliage looked more female and also rather longer than he had realized.

Secondly, Queen Melian herself was standing right next to the tree, the one in which the nightingale nested.

‘She’s not stealing the eggs,’ Melian explained softly. ‘She’s putting them back for me.’

Mablung blinked.

Did that mean the eggs had indeed been stolen earlier, as he had originally thought?

‘Very promising, that young Nellas!’ said Melian cheerfully. ‘I don’t think the mother bird has noticed they were gone.’
