Summary: Maedhros worries about his younger brothers after Dagor Bragollach.


For a while, only bad news came to Himring: death and disaster on every side. Morgoth’s attacks on the fortress did not cease, and Maedhros took comfort in throwing himself fiercely into battle. Every Orc he killed here was one less to go south through the Pass of Aglon and hunt his brothers. Maglor was here, with him; but otherwise he did not have certain tidings.

One day a windblown crow landed beside him on the battlements and spoke in a raspy voice. “Greetings to Maedhros son of Fëanor from Celegorm and Curufin.”

A great weight slipped from his shoulders.
