Feb. 26th, 2024 10:18 pmTitle:Promise
Fandom: Silmarillion
Characters/Pairing: Finduilas (First Age)
Rating: G
Word count: 100
Summary: Why was Finduilas so enamored by Turin?
Prompt: Beacon
Disclaimer: They're not my characters but Tolkien's, but i wish they were.
He was a man that we could look towards hope against Morgoth.
Long have my people valued secrecy and stealth but now with this powerful Man stepping up and counseling us to strike against the Enemy, we do have a chance to change the fortunes of Elves in Middle-earth. Not all hope is lost.
Tall, dark-haired, most beautiful mortal man I beheld, it was against my heart to fall in love, but i was attracted to the symbol of hope shown so prominently before my eyes.
I pitied Gwindor, but Turin held my heart, a beacon of promise for Nargothond.

But one can understand her desire for hope.

Date: 2024-03-01 12:06 am (UTC)i was always fascinated by Findulias yearning for Turin even though she did not know his full story and Gwindor probably gave some insight to him but she did not listen. No one listened to Gwindor and Ulmo's warnings thus Narthgothond perished.
Finduilias wanted to hope and i guess Turin brought that but they underestimated Morgoth entirely.

Date: 2024-08-05 02:52 pm (UTC)It is interesting to see her not and love a Man no less. She should've listened to Gwindor and Gondolin should not have put so much faith in Turin either.
It was fun writing this since it is interesting why she would fall for Turin.
