A tumultuous, intertwining endless maze of despair pulled him closer to the abyss. It was hot, suffocating and there was no chance to breathe.

He found that he was struggling to see the light. He had already lost his friends, his brother. What was there still to live for? Osgiliath was destroyed, Minas Tirith was surrounded. All he could see was defeat.

Suddenly there was a different scent, a light that pulled him back to consciousness and another image appeared. A kind, kingly man was before him. Less painful. He took a breath and was lifted out of the darkness.

Thank yoU! Yes, the athelas prompted Faramir to stray out of the nightmare and back to reality, i think. This has been written about a lot but tha'ts the first thing i thought about when they said "in your dreams" .
