‘I must admit, Mother, I don’t quite…. Flowers that do not fade? Leaves that remain forever golden? I know you grew up with them, as I did not.’
Celebrian caught Galadriel’s forearm daringly, giving it a tug.
‘Look, only look!’
Celebrian gestured at the burgeoning green growth of Spring.
‘Who could ask for more?’
‘Almost the same words,’ sighed Galadriel. ‘I remember…’
‘Who?’ asked Celebrian, hoping for a like-minded friend.
‘Finduilas.’

Celebrian, tottering on Galadriel’s arm, threw a last despairing glance behind. Galadriel, gritting her teeth, broke off a luxuriant green-leaved bough. Celebrian clutched it as she was lifted aboard.

A/N: The second scene is supposed to be set when Celebrian is leaving Middle-earth, having suffered a similar fate at the hands of orcs as Galadriel's niece Finduilas
