Title inspired by Pink Floyd's On the Turning Away
Disclaimer: Tolkien implied in a letter that we could play in his sandbox.
Arwen rides the gray stallion with ease, his gentle walk a tonic to her thoughts. Her mind's drifting, like a leaf on the wind, as her company journeys to the Gray Havens. That's when the vision comes to her, of a young boy who's running to his ada, a gray-haired king. As the child is lifted up into the air, she suddenly knows who this boy is: her son, with Estel, in a future that she could not foresee, possessing not the gift of foresight. And so she turns around, not heeding the calls of her friend, and gallops away.
