The Dimholt Seer
Sep. 3rd, 2006 01:22 amTitle: The Dimholt Seer
Author: SheBit
Word Count: 100
Characters: One of the Dead, Eowyn
Adult Content/Pairing: None
Disclaimer: Tolkien owns everything herein, and our souls.
Author Notes: This came to me almost fully formed after rereading the passage in RotK where Aragorn takes his leave of Eowyn, leaving her weeping beside the Dimholt road. I imagined one of the Dead watching her and wishing he could comfort her with what he knew of the future.
Weep not; one so lovely should not cry. Could you hear me, I would speak words of comfort, but I have no voice. I had a tongue once, which sang sweet songs for my lady love, but my lord betrayed a king and I was cursed for it - cursed to a walking death. But you yet live, lady; you shall sing and laugh and love again. This crownless king is not for your future but for mine; far from this road waits one who will love you better than he. So look to the White City, lady, and weep not.
