ON A SUNNY DAY AT BAG END
Sam stood, and dusted off his hands. He joined Frodo for a moment's quiet admiration of the plants and flowers.
"What do you think?"
Bright-eyed with tears, Frodo hugged Sam with one arm wrapped around the gardener's shoulders.
"Sam, you have done a marvelous job! It looks very much as it used to, before we went away."
Sam blushed and grinned. "I had a lot of help."
"Oh, I know and I'm not forgetting that. But it was your vision that helped to recreate what used to be."
In renewed silence, they smilingly contemplated the restored gardens of Bag End.
